Resource Page for Auditions
Please take a moment to thoroughly review the following information to prepare for your audition. To fully access most of this content, it's best to use a laptop. The links for audition sides and the vocal score provided below may not display properly on a mobile phone and could be a bit confusing to read.

We encourage children to audition for a range of roles. Take some time to delve into each character. While many will be competing for the most sought-after parts, there are still numerous fantastic roles available. When deciding which roles might be a good fit for you, consider how many lines you'll need to memorize and the extent of singing required. Is there a notable solo, and does it align with your vocal range? Is the character humorous, serious, nurturing, or a villain? Does this character need to command attention on stage? There are various factors that influence casting, but performers can improve their chances by selecting characters that showcase their strengths.
Character Selection:
For the audition, we invite each participant to choose their top three character preferences from the list below. You are welcome to audition for more than three characters if you’d like! During the audition, you will read the sides for the characters you choose. The list includes links to character breakdowns (descriptions), scripts (scene selections for your character), and scores (vocal selections to prepare for your audition; you can find the vocal and performance tracks in the links above).
Be sure to prepare the vocal selection for the character you are auditioning for. If your character doesn’t have a solo, you can select a minute and a half of any song from the show.
During auditions, you’ll need to perform without the singers, and using a track will be necessary. Singing with a track is essential for us to assess your vocal quality, pitch accuracy, and timing.
Here are some key points to keep in mind:
- You don’t need to memorize the audition sides or your song choice.
- The audition sides will be provided on the day, so there’s no need to bring anything with you. We will have the tracks ready to play for your vocal audition.
- During the audition, teachers will read for other roles, and you will only perform for the character you’re auditioning for unless instructed otherwise.
- Please remember that auditioning for specific characters doesn’t guarantee you’ll be cast in those roles. The casting team might assign you a different role or ask you to read for another character to see how you handle something new.
It’s important to note that every cast member, no matter how big or small their role, is crucial to the success of the production. We encourage you to stay open-minded and let your creativity shine during the auditions.
We can’t wait to see your amazing talent at the auditions! If you have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out. Break a leg!
